Getting Started

Ready to share a workbook? Here are the steps to follow..

Open up the Excel file you want to share.
Click Boardwalk Cloud For Excel on the Excel ribbon menu.
Click on Login/Register command in the menu then the Register link to establish your user credentials.
Click on Excel tab you want to share. Click on Share Worksheet to save the worksheet data to the secure Excel cloud.
Click on Share My Workbook.
This will create an email with the workbook as an attachment.
Click on Login/Register command in the menu then the Register link to establish your user credentials.
Put in the email addresses of the people you want collaborate with, then send them the email. You only need to do this once. You can now share your changes with collaborators by clicking on Submit.
Click on Login/Register command in the menu then the Register link to establish your user credentials.
To see changes from others, click on Refresh. You are all set – you can now share information easy, simple, fast.

Received an invitation to collaborate email? Here are the steps to follow..

Click on the Installer link in the invitation email. Download and install Boardwalk Cloud For Excel.
Open up the Excel file attached to the invitation email.
Click Boardwalk Cloud For Excel on the Excel ribbon menu.
Click on Login/Register command in the menu then the Register link to establish your user credentials.
The workbook will then be saved to your local machine and Refreshed so you see the latest changes from other users.
You can now share your changes with other collaborators by clicking on Submit. To see changes from others, click on Refresh.
You are all set – you, too, can now share information easy, simple, fast.

Commonly Used Terms

Save Data: Allows data in the current sheet to be saved in the database server
Refresh Data: Retrieves data for all the changes from the database server
Owner: The person who initiates the collaboration. He/She emails the work book to the intended audience
Collaborator(s): These are the team member(s) to whom the Owner has emailed the work book.
History: Diamond Lane automatically keeps track of every change made by the Owner and Collaborator. So the user can view/review the sequence of changes.

When you open the MS EXCEL document after installing Diamond Lane, you will see the menu item below:

When you click on the Diamond Lane menu, the following ribbon shows up.

Why do I ask silly questions?

In order to use Diamond Lane, you must first Register. The registration process is very simple. Click on Login/Register then the Register link. Enter your name, email and establish a password. Once you are registered login requires only email and password.

The following password complexity is enforced:

Password should contain minimum of 8 characters
Password should have at least one UPPER CASE character
Password should have at least one lower case character
Password should have at least one numeric character
Password should have at least one special character
Password should not repeat characters
Password should be different from the user name

Once all fields are correctly entered, you will see all green checkmarks, then click the OK to complete the registration.
